Natural products
Very recently the group has widened its activity to the area of natural products extraction. This part of our research aimed to develop green or/and specific methodology to extract natural compounds belonging to polyphenol’s class in general and more precisely to flavonoids that are known to display many biological activities.
Another goal targeted in this domain is to reduce drastically the quantity of solvent required to reach pure compounds by suppressing the common multistep purification replaced by one-step purification in connection to the 12th rules of green chemistry. The last part concerns the use of the isolated compounds as natural ingredients in cosmetics and so one. In addition, we planned to use these substrates as a platform to design starting materials for the organic synthesis and for the diversification needed in pharmaceutical science by exploring their QSAR study notably.
